U-shaped classroom seating chart template

Start with 24 individual desks: eight along each side and eight across the bottom. The front stays open, and the side desks face toward the center. Every desk has a separate student seat.
Use this layout opens a new class with no students, assignments or rules. Your other classes stay saved. Open the class name menu to return to them.
An open center with a clear front
The desks form a U around an open center, with an opening at the front of the classroom. Check that the sides fit your room before assigning students.
Move or remove desks to shorten the sides, or rotate a desk to change its direction. Check views of the board from the corners and access through the opening. Measure the space in your room; the preview is not to scale.
Customize this seating chart
- Choose Use this layout to open the layout shown above in the editor.
- Use Move desks to drag, rotate or remove desks. Use Add desks for more seats.
- Paste student names or import CSV, then add optional rules.
- Generate an arrangement, review its rule checks and apply it. Select a student and a seat for any manual adjustments, then use Print / Export.
Review confirmations when deleting occupied desks. Adding students can add desks when needed, up to 120 seats.
Seating rules for U-Shape
Use Keep this seat to reserve a position on the U. The template starts without pairs or groups. Add the desks you need or change the desk type before using Same pair as or Same group as.
Not next to checks the neighbor links around the U. Students across the center may still sit close to each other in your room. Check the links again after moving desks.
Check the rule results before applying an arrangement. Required rules can conflict, and some preferences may remain unmet. See a seating-rule example.
