A layout for working side by side

The desks face the front, with three pairs across each of four rows. Move pairs or individual desks to fit your room.

Check that both partners can see the board and that you can reach their seats. For larger groups, use a Groups template. Nearby pairs are still separate pairs in Seatly.

Customize this seating chart

1. Choose Use this layout to open the layout shown above in the editor.
2. Use Move desks to drag, rotate or remove desks. Use Add desks for more seats.
3. Paste student names or import CSV, then add optional rules.
4. Generate an arrangement, review its rule checks and apply it. Select a student and a seat for any manual adjustments, then use Print / Export.

Review confirmations when deleting occupied desks. Adding students can add desks when needed, up to 120 seats.

Seating rules for Pairs

Use Same pair as to place two students in one of the defined pairs. Same group as needs group units, which this starting layout does not contain. Keep this seat reserves one specific seat for a student. It does not reserve the whole pair.

Not next to uses the neighbor links shown in the editor. In the starting Pairs layout, the two seats in each pair are neighbors. Moving desks can change those links, so review them after adjustments.

Check the rule results before applying an arrangement. Required rules can conflict, and some preferences may remain unmet. See a seating-rule example.

The numbered chart below matches the selected layout. Choose Letter or A4 and an orientation, then use your browser’s print dialog to print or save as PDF if available.

To print student names or an edited arrangement, use Print / Export in the editor. Download a JSON backup from Backup to keep an editable copy; a PDF cannot restore a project. Printing and PDF help.
