Rows classroom seating chart template

24 student desks · 24 student seats

Start with four rows of six desks, all facing the front. Each numbered desk seats one student. Adjust the 24-seat layout to your class size.

Use this layout opens a new class with no students, assignments or rules. Your other classes stay saved. Open the class name menu to return to them.

Move, add and remove desks

  1. Choose Use this layout to open these desks in the editor.
  2. Choose Move desks, select a desk and drag it. Use the rotation controls to change its direction, or Delete to remove the selection. Review the confirmation when removing occupied desks or linked rules.
  3. Choose Add desks to add an empty single desk, pair or group. Use Desk type if you want to rebuild the arrangement into a different desk type.
  4. Add student names by pasting a list or importing CSV. Add any rules you need, then use Arrange seats. Check the preview and its rule results before applying it. You can also assign seats by selecting a student and then a seat.

The editor supports up to 120 seats. Adding students can add desks when more seats are needed. Undo restores the assignments from before the last applied arrangement. Changes to students, desks or rules clear that undo.

Specific seats and neighboring desks

Each desk in Rows seats one student. The template starts without pairs or groups. Not next to checks seats immediately beside each other in a row. It does not check seats in front, behind or diagonally across, or measure distance in your room.

Keep this seat reserves a specific seat for a student. To use Same pair as or Same group as, add pairs or groups to the layout first. After moving desks, check the neighbor links shown in the editor before using Not next to.

Seatly shows each arrangement as a preview for you to accept or cancel. Required rules can conflict, and some preferences may remain unmet. If no arrangement is found, read the messages and check the layout and rules. Follow the separation-rule walkthrough.

Print the blank Rows chart

The print preview shows the same 24 seats as the layout above. The chart includes desk outlines and seat labels, but leaves out decorative room objects. Choose a paper size and orientation, then open the browser print dialog. Choose Save as PDF if it is available.
